Ashton Jeanty had a rough rookie season with the Las Vegas Raiders. The highly touted running back averaged just 3.7 yards per carry and topped 100 scrimmage yards only four times all year. A leaky offensive line and shaky quarterback play made things worse, but the numbers were hard to spin.
Now heading into his sophomore season, Jeanty says something has shifted. He told Raiders media that studying defensive schemes, blocking assignments, and coverage details has made the game feel slower and more predictable. More reps, more clarity, he said.
The timing matters. Las Vegas finished last in scoring league-wide in 2024, and the front office has been working to fix the problems that buried the offense. If the Raiders actually address the line and the QB situation, Jeanty could be a serious fantasy football sleeper pick with real NFL breakout potential in 2025.
The Raiders need him to deliver, and he says he is ready.
