Brock Purdy is not sleeping on what the San Francisco 49ers are capable of, but he is also not taking anything for granted.
Speaking at the 2026 Dwight Clark Legacy Series event, Purdy said the 49ers roster has everything needed to win a Super Bowl when healthy, but talent alone does not cut it. He pointed to the pain of past NFC Championship losses and that 2023 Super Bowl defeat as fuel, saying the locker room stays hungry because nobody just admires how good the roster looks on paper.
The 49ers have reached the NFC title game four times and the Super Bowl twice under head coach Kyle Shanahan without a Lombardi Trophy to show for it. Last season ended in a divisional round loss to the Seattle Seahawks, with Purdy himself dealing with injury.
San Francisco wants rings, and Purdy is making sure nobody forgets it.
