Maka Kids Just Raised $3M to Fix Kids Screen Time for Good

Maka Kids is done letting kids rot in front of algorithmically addictive content. The startup just locked in $3 million in seed funding to grow its streaming app built specifically for children ages zero to six.

Most kids streaming platforms are engineered for maximum engagement, which basically means keeping toddlers glued to screens as long as possible. Maka Kids is going the opposite direction. Every piece of content on the platform is designed around healthy child development, not watch time metrics.

The funding will help the team scale the app and bring its well-being focused model to more families. For parents drowning in guilt over screen time, this is the kind of kids app they have actually been searching for.

Whether Maka Kids can compete in a space dominated by YouTube Kids and Disney Plus is the real question, but the $3 million says investors are betting on it.
