Mick Jagger just landed his next big screen role, literally touching down by helicopter on the volcanic island of Stromboli to join the cast of Three Incestuous Sisters.
The Rolling Stones icon is set to star alongside Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, Josh O’Connor, Jessie Buckley, and Isabella Rossellini in director Alice Rohrwacher’s adaptation of Audrey Niffenegger’s beloved novel of the same name.
Rohrwacher, the acclaimed Italian filmmaker behind Poor Things collaborator Josh O’Connor’s recent arthouse work, is helming the project. The Stromboli shoot signals production is already underway on what is shaping up to be one of the most star-packed art films in recent memory.
Niffenegger, best known for writing The Time Traveler’s Wife, wrote Three Incestuous Sisters as a visually driven graphic novel, making Rohrwacher’s poetic filmmaking style a natural fit.
With this cast, Three Incestuous Sisters is already the most anticipated arthouse film of 2025.
