Mick Jagger is officially acting again, and this time he is playing a lighthouse keeper opposite some of the best actresses working right now. The Rolling Stones legend flew into the Italian island of Stromboli by helicopter to begin filming Three Incestuous Sisters, the new movie from director Alice Rohrwacher, known for Happy as Lazzaro.
The film is based on Audrey Niffenegger’s 2005 visual novel, the same author behind The Time Traveler’s Wife. Jagger joins a stacked cast including Dakota Johnson, Jessie Buckley, Saoirse Ronan, and Josh O’Connor, with Jagger reportedly playing O’Connor’s father.
Rohrwacher is shooting on location in Stromboli, giving the project an instantly cinematic backdrop. With that director, that cast, and Mick Jagger arriving by helicopter to a volcanic island, Three Incestuous Sisters is already one of the most anticipated films in development.
This one is going to be something else.
