Windows 11 Search has been driving users crazy for years, and Microsoft is finally doing something about it.
The long-running frustration? You type a file name into Windows 11 Search and instead of pulling up your local files, it redirects you straight to Bing. Nobody asked for that. Microsoft is now testing a fix that gives local search results better priority, meaning your files, folders, and apps should actually show up before any web results try to hijack your query.
This update is currently in testing, so it has not rolled out to all Windows 11 users yet. But if you have ever searched for a document on your PC and got a wall of Bing links instead, this fix is aimed directly at you.
Windows 11 has been one of the most searched topics in PC software complaints, and this particular bug has been a repeat offender.
