Dexys Midnight Runners are back with their first album in four decades. The iconic “Come On Eileen” band just announced “Love,” dropping September 4 via Heavenly Recordings, and it could be their final record together.
The album marks the group’s first release under the Dexys Midnight Runners name since 1985’s “Don’t Stand Me Down,” produced by David Holmes, known for his work with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Lead single “My Life In England Pt. 1” is already out, a rework of a 2003 compilation track that threads through frontman Kevin Rowland’s life, covering his second-generation Irish upbringing, family, late-life romance, loss, and reconciliation.
Rowland described the lyrics as pure personal memory, growing up in northwest London obsessed with American culture, Elvis, sharp clothes, and new records, in the years before The Beatles changed everything.
A 2026 UK and Ireland tour is confirmed, with an extra London date added after overwhelming ticket demand.
Forty years gone, and Dexys still have something real to say.
