Far Cry 7 Release Date Confirmed and the Wait Is Long

Far Cry 7 is officially coming, but Ubisoft fans need patience. During a financial presentation on May 20, Ubisoft confirmed that new Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, and Ghost Recon games are all targeted for release before March 2029. That is a long runway, and the company admitted 2025/2026 will be a rough year, with losses hitting €1.3 billion and a thin release schedule ahead.

Far Cry 6 launched back in 2021, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot already teased two Far Cry projects in active development. A live-action Far Cry TV show is also in the works, co-created by Rob McElhenney of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Noah Hawley, known for Alien: Earth and Fargo.

Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake drops in July, and the witch trials entry Codename Hexe may face delays after losing two directors.

Ubisoft is rebuilding, but gamers are the ones paying the price in waiting time.
