Static Dress just released a free-to-play psychological horror game called The Magistrate’s Loop, and it’s directly connected to their upcoming album Injury Episode, out May 29.
The first-person game takes 10 to 30 minutes to finish. Players explore a looping corridor with an eerie electronic soundtrack and no combat, no fail states, no way out until the central puzzle is cracked.
Fans already deep in Static Dress lore will spot familiar names and objects woven through the experience. New listeners can still play it cold and get everything they need from it.
Vocalist Olli Appleyard said he wants to offer fans real escapism, something that pulls them away from the noise of everyday life rather than reflecting it back at them.
This is not the band’s first game either. Back in 2024, they dropped a Game Boy Color title tied to debut album Rouge Carpet Disaster.
Static Dress are building something most bands simply are not.
