The Boys Finale Review: “Blood and Bone” Sticks the Landing

The Boys season 5 finale delivers. After a slow, uneven first half, “Blood and Bone” proves the show saved its best for last, wrapping up the years-long Homelander story in genuinely satisfying fashion.

The episode wastes no time getting to the main event. Frenchie’s funeral lands hard, with Karen Fukuhara giving a wordless, gut-punch performance as Kimiko. Sister Sage gets a clever sendoff, using Kimiko’s grief as a weapon before fading out happy and blissfully unbothered.

The White House showdown delivers the Homelander chaos fans have wanted, including a gleefully dark moment where Antony Starr’s character murders a barely disguised Elon Musk parody. Daveed Diggs and Colby Minifie add real tension to the political spiral.

The biggest flaw is the treatment of Marie Moreau and the Gen V crew, a disappointment made worse by the news that Gen V season 3 is cancelled. Those characters got shortchanged.

Still, “Blood and Bone” sticks the landing when it counts.
